Review
Hyphen’s barrier care face cream for dry skin is an okay moisturiser.
It would have been better without the fragrance, which has put a negative spin on the product.
A good moisturiser should hydrate and help retain that hydration.
This product lacks enough ingredients to add hydration to the skin.
It can help retain hydration and strengthen the skin barrier function. But since the product cannot add enough hydration, you need to use a different product before this one-something that is hydrating to the skin.
The product’s ingredients, ceramides and peptides, help strengthen the barrier function.
The product does not add enough hydration to the skin.
The product’s marketing claim exaggerates its ability to strengthen the skin barrier. It will strengthen to some extent, but if you have a weak barrier, this product alone won’t do the trick.
On a side note, you know you have a weak barrier if your skin has more than normal breakouts and feels dull, sensitive and irritated. It will also have dry patches in some parts of the skin because a weak barrier leads to dehydrated skin.
It has fragrance. Fragrance has no functional role. it can irritate and inflame the skin, leading to a weakening of the skin’s barrier function. Fragrance is counterproductive in a skin barrier-strengthening moisturiser.
How to use the product?
Cleanse your face.
First, add a hydrating serum. Then, top it off with this moisturiser. If you are applying makeup, apply it on top of this moisturiser.
Finish your routine with a good amount of sunscreen. Sunscreen should always be the topmost layer of skincare.
